Rather than relying on a special table that requires complex pre-operative patient positioning, the elevator allows you to use the same table you have always used, assess leg length and stability like you always have, and minimize operative time. The elevator provides both mechanically assisted and manual elevation, so you can assess the amount of stress being placed on the proximal femur and posterior capsule.
